Our Services

Move Play Grow OT was developed in 2017 in response to the growing need for private occupational therapy services in Sydney’s South-West due to many new developments in the MacArthur region. We provide intervention and support for children between 0 and 18 years within our sensory gyms comprised of rock climbing walls, slides, swings, climbing equipment, scooter boards and a ball pit.

Our therapists provide individual therapy, group sessions, assessments and mobile services throughout the Campbelltown, Camden and Liverpool region.

Comprehensive Assesments & Individual Reports

What it involves

Move Play Grow Occupational Therapy provides assessments and reports which are generally the first step in the intervention process for children commencing therapy. Assessments are aimed to understand the strengths, weaknesses and difficulties the child may have. The assessment process generally involves the gathering of information from parents/carers, clinic observations and through formal and informal assessment.

The assessment provides a baseline evaluation of the child and can take up to 120 minutes. The length of the assessment is dependent on the needs on the child and the choice of the family. A report is then prepared which includes the results of formal assessments, concerns expressed by care givers and results from an observational assessment. After the assessment, intervention goals are set in collaboration with parents. The report is then used to implement an intervention plan.

Individual Therapy

What it involves

Individual therapy sessions are designed to help the child achieve the goals set in the initial appointment. During intervention, the occupational therapist will work with your child on a weekly or fortnightly basis for a half hour or 45 minute appointment. This appointment is generally conducted within the Gledswood Hills Clinic however may take place at the child’s preschool or school. Individual therapy is run in blocks of 10 sessions. Once a block is complete, the therapist will re-assess the child, provide the parents with on-going strategies and will move on to the next goal.

The Individual therapy plan is specific and customised to the child and hence focuses directly on the child’s strengths and weaknesses. The occupational therapy intervention plan adheres to evidence-based practice, uses a sensory integration approach and is always family-centred.
