The transition between pre-school and Kindergarten can often be challenging for children starting their first year of school. SenseReady for school is a school-readiness program designed to help children think, explore and discover. SenseReady for school is aimed at supporting the development of confidence and independence skills through multisensory learning.
Multisensory learning is learning that involves multiple senses within the same activity. Children can be described as sensory learners and take in information around them through a variety of ways:
- Auditory- through their ears
- Visual- through their eyes
- Tactile- through touch
- Olfactory- through their mouth
- Taste- through their mouth
- Vestibular- through movement
- Proprioception- through deep pressure
SenseReady for school is an 8-week program run four times throughout the year. SenseReady for school helps teach children:
